Route Monitoring Introduction
After approving the plan, and in preparation for sea, the system needs to be set up for route monitoring. The display needs to change so we can see the key information we need without having to manipulate the screen whilst at sea.
A reminder of some of the Abbreviations used in ECDIS that you may now see as you configure the screen:
SMG – Speed Made Good
DTG – Distance To Go
CMG – Course Made Good
TTG – Time To Go
XTL – Cross Track Limit
XTD – Cross Track Distance
