During the course it is important to remember that we are not teaching you how to navigate using ECDIS, nor does this replace all the other ECDIS training you need.

We are assessing that you know all the key menus on your ship specific ECDIS in order to navigate safely.  Therefore, we are assuming that you have the basic navigation knowledge in accordance with STCW qualifications and have been using your ECDIS for some time.
